Daily Tips: Advantage of Wang Resin

Wang resin is one of the earliest and most commonly used solid phase supports. It has a large grid space and is suitable for the synthesis of longer peptide chains. It is one of the most widely used SPO resins with good chemical stability and reactivity. It can be simply removed by moderate acid treatment (such as TFA) to release the peptide. For C-terminal carboxypeptide synthesis, Wang resin is recommended.

Application: In peptide synthesis, Wang resin is often used to fix amines and convert them into fixed amounts of standard carbamate protecting groups by reaction with light and activated carbonates, bis (p-nitro)-carbonates. However, it should be noted that Wang resin has poor compatibility with certain amino acids (such as Pro, His and Cys), and may need to be avoided or special measures may be taken.
