In vitro study of Apamin

Apamin is an 18 amino acid peptide neurotoxin found in apitoxin (bee venom). For a long time, it has been considered a specific selective blocker of Ca2+activated K+(SK) channels. Through hematoxylin and eosin staining, Apamin inhibited liver fibrosis induced by 3,5-diethylcarbonyl-1,4-dihydrocolodine (DDC) in a mouse model.

Compared with the expression levels in the DDC feeding group, Apamin treatment reduces the expression of inflammatory cytokines, including IL-6 and IFN- γ, TNF- α And IL-1 β。  Apamin is an 18 amino acid peptide neurotoxin found in apitoxin (bee venom).
