Sermorelin is a synthetic growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) with 29 amino acid polypeptides. It is the N-terminal fragment of endogenous growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) and has significant growth regulating effect. It is suggested that neuropeptide / neurotransmitter, hormone and cytokine are the "common language" among nervous system, endocrine system and immune system. The immune system is regulated by neuroendocrine immune network in addition to its fine regulation mechanism.

Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide different from growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH), which stimulates the pituitary to release growth hormone. The results showed that sermorillin could antagonize the immunosuppressive effect of immunosuppressant cyclophosphamide in mice. In the immune system, macrophages play an important role in specific and non-specific cellular immune function and immune regulation. Sermorelin can significantly increase the weight of thymus and spleen, and improve the phagocytic function of mononuclear phagocytes, which indicates that sermorillin can enhance the non-specific immune function of mice
