Trifluoroacetyl tripeptide-2 (sequence: TFA-Val-Try-Val-OH) is a synthetic tripeptide designed as an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases and elastase. In vitro studies were performed to evaluate the effects of trifluoroacetyl-tripeptide-2 (TT2), a recently discovered of proteins as co-inducers of cellular senescence.

The results suggest that trifluoroacetyl-tripeptide-2 has broader anti-aging properties. It reduces presenilin synthesis, increases proteoglycan production and shrinks collagen, thus reducing wrinkles and increasing tissue firmness. Additionally, its anti-wrinkle, anti-sagging, and skin tightening effects were evaluated in two in vitro split-face studies.
