What are Protected Amino acids:
As we know amino acids all have N- and C-end as well as side chains. To prevent unwanted reactions, we can use some reagents to react with important parts of the amino acid to temporarily block the activity of the group. This kind of amino acid is very stable and we called it protected amino acid.
The groups commonly used to protect amino acids mainly include Fmoc , Boc , Z (Cbz), etc. Boc-Ala-OH is a commonly used amino acid protected by the boc group.
Boc-Ala-OH (CAS:15761-38-3) is an alanine derivative. Boc-Ala-OH is used for peptide synthesis, it is protected by boc group, so it is more stable and convenient for storage and transportation.
