General Description

What is Penicillin?

White or slightly yellow crystalline powder. Melting point 208-209 ℃ (decomposition). Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in butyl acetate, ethanol, or acetone. It decomposes when exposed to alkali and is relatively stable to acids.

6-Aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA) can introduce different side chains to obtain various types of penicillin with different pharmacological effects. An important intermediate in the production of numerous semi synthetic penicillin antibiotics such as ampicillin and amoxicillin.
6-Aminopenicillanic acid Production Method
There are solid-phase enzyme method and chemical lysis method for 6-Aminopenicillanic acid. The chemical cracking method uses penicillin G potassium salt as raw material, undergoes condensation, chlorination, and etherification to obtain diimide ether.
